What is stress?

When we talk about stress, we usually mean psychological stress triggered by external stimuli. A stress trigger leads to the release of stress hormones such as adrenaline or cortisol, which results in a short-term increase of blood pressure and elevated blood sugar levels.
This hormone release enables us to perform at a high physical level, which we usually do not live out in modern everyday life. The stress phase should be followed by a regeneration phase to calm the body back down.

8 possible signs of stress:

  • inner restlessness
  • increased irritability
  • tension
  • concentration problems
  • weight gain or loss
  • sleep problems
  • headaches
  • digestion problems

How can CBD help?

In many studies it has been observed that CBD can help reduce stress.
Scientists have found that CBD can lower the release of adrenaline and cortisol, thus reduce the effects of stress. These studies have so far been conduced on animals. However, testimonials show that taking CBD can have a calming and stress-relieving effect. CBD is, of course, not the only solution to fight stress. Those who want to “de-stress” should do so holistically and see CBD as a helper in the process.
